Las cartas Advertí que el PRD tenía que jugar sus cartas con inteligencia, en lo de la Reforma Constitucional, si es que las tenía, pues si en vez de provocar y sumarse a los consensos, le daba por la confrontación con el PLD, obligaría a dar un giro en la discusión y correría el riesgo de que el oficialismo lo avasalle.

Traje a colación una consigna que le fue aplicada en el pasado: “La Oposición se oye, se aplaude y se rechaza”. Sin embargo, veo que se está partiendo de una equivocación, como creer que la mayoría del gobierno es “frágil”. Si solo contara con los legisladores del PLD, sí; pero ¿y los reformistas? Todo es posible en política, pero ir a pecho descubierto creyendo que puede cambiarse la correlación de fuerza en la Asamblea Revisora y en medio de los debates, sería confiarse demasiado. Debe observar cómo el presidente Leonel Fernández mueve las fichas, pues el tablero está a la vista de todos. El PLD acaba de dar una demostración de unidad de propósitos y acción en las elecciones de la ADP, consiguiendo para uno de sus dirigentes la presidencia. Y por igual abortar el aumento de “sueldo” de los regidores del ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional. Así que, por el momento, no pueden esperarse brotes de indisciplina, pues la espada que pende sobre las cabezas de sus senadores y diputados es la de ser excluidos como potenciales candidatos en los comicios de medio tiempo del año que viene. No contaron con esa astucia...

La comisión

El PRD, a instancia del ex presidente Hipólito Mejía, creó La Comisión de Seguimiento, cuyos miembros orientarían a los legisladores del partido durante los trabajos de la Asamblea Revisora, pero también vigilarían posibles deserciones, pues las mayorías no nacen, se hacen. Y en caso de que hipotéticamente se produjera alguna rebelión entre los oficialistas, la cantera de los perredeístas estaría disponible para los consabidos sonsacamientos. Se tenía prevista una reunión a principio de semana, pero la visita de Ricardo Lagos alteró esos planes, y la fecha fue corrida para hoy o mañana, a fin de acordar estrategias. Habrá que esperar, pues hay compañeros que se resienten con los notables y se resisten a sus líneas. La competencia se da en todos los escenarios. ¿A cuál bando pertenece la mayoría de los congresistas? Hay quienes dicen por lo bajo que se le está haciendo el juego al presidente Fernández, pues la discusión de la Reforma tiene dos años y es ahora cuando se intenta concertar internamente. Y si eso creen algunos comisionados. No debe olvidarse que en el PRD se anduvo por separado a la hora de abordar la cuestión, y mientras el Instituto realizaba un seminario, el MVP hacía su propia tarea. La Corriente Institucional prefirió las orientaciones de Luis Gómez, obviando a Milton Ray Guevara, perredeísta, pero parcial de Miguel Vargas. ¿Por qué tiene Vargas que sumarse a la estrategia de Hipólito Mejía?...

La derecha

Habrá que ver el ánimo de los senadores y diputados del PRD en su encuentro con la Comisión de Seguimiento para determinar cuál será el comportamiento en la Asamblea Revisora. Sin embargo, desde ya se prevén contradicciones. Por ejemplo, Ivelisse Prats habría comentado que sus postulados son los del Foro Alternativo, del cual formó parte a “ título personal ”. Ninguno de esos puntos están en la Reforma, por lo que lo suyo sería un ejercicio hueco. Pero eso no sería lo peor. El PRD tiene entre sus cometidos plantear como propias las demandas de la sociedad civil, incluyendo al CONEP. ¿Cómo podrá ser ñal mismo tiempo-- portavoz de los trabajadores y los patronos? Los postulados del Foro se suponen de izquierda, los intereses de los empresarios necesariamente son de derecha. “Ambos a dos” suena bien como canción infantil, pero difícilmente pueda conciliarse como estrategia política. La izquierda tiene buenos auspicios ahora en América Latina, y el PRD, en vez de buscar sus raíces populares, se entrega a la derecha. ¿Por qué traer de Chile a Lagos, socialista, si era más conveniente Sebastián Piñera, adalid del litoral opuesto? El PRD considera que asociándose a los empresarios debilita al PLD, creyendo que éstos fueron las fuerzas decisivas en los últimos dos comicios. Las clases no se suicidan, pero ñal parecerñ los partidos sí...
